       Liquid Minerals Group Inc. (LMGI) is the largest manufacturer of high concentration (30% Mg by weight) oil soluble magnesium fuel additives in the industry.

LMG-30B®

LMGI's boiler and furnace grade fuel additive, LMG-30B®, is not only the highest concentration in the industry, it remains stable indefinitely.  Due to the extremely small nano particles, an enormous amount of reactive surface area is available in each kilogram of product.  LMGI's smaller nano particles allow lower dosage rates and, therefore provide customers a lower treatment cost while increasing the passivation of contaminant metals found in heavy fuel oils.   LMGI's combines established chemistry knowledge into the expanding art of nanotechnology that has allowed us to reach higher levels of concentration and performance.

 Each liter of LMG-30B® additive contains billions of magnesium nano particles so extremely small in size that LMGI additives look and feel like high quality motor oil.  How is this possible?  The answer is scientifically simple - when particles are below 100 nanometers in size, luminescence becomes diminished since photons of light cannot refract off such small nano particles.  When a magnesium based fuel additive looks cloudy, it contains large visible particles of less reactive magnesium.  These larger particles are too big and heavy to travel throughout the entire system and, therefore, do not provide both hot and cold end corrosion protection.  

Less reactive magnesium additives, which are still being sold today, contain large particles on the order of 500 nanometers and larger and most contain magnesium particles above 2000 nanometers (2-microns) in size.  The most effective fireside additive must provide copious amounts of reactive surface area of magnesium to obtain the high level effectiveness that only nanotechnologically advanced additives can provide.  

How important is nanotechnology becoming in each and every industry in the world?  In  January 2000 the President of the United States called for a US $500 million National Nanotechnology Initiative.  From the Presidents statement, LMGI realized that  nanotechnology had reached critical mass.  LMGI is proud to be an industry leader in oil soluble nanotechnologically based fuel additives.  

How effective is one liter of our LMG30B?  Here is an example: Treatment dosage for a heavy fuel oil that contained roughly 50 ppm of vanadium and 2% sulfur would require an approximate recommended starting dosage rate of, (1) LITER OF LMG-30B® TO TREAT (13,500) LITERS OF FUEL OIL.


LMG-20E and LMG-30E®

LMGI's turbine grade fuel additives, LMG-20E, and LMG-30E® are the highest concentration and purest turbine additives manufactured in the industry.  LMGI's Technical Director was part of the team of experts that wrote the GE specifications for gas turbine additives.

 

LMG-AF20

LMGI's LMG-AF20 is a highly effective anti-foulant which can be used to prevent fouling in exchangers and, because agglomerated asphaltenes are the precursors to coke formation, it can prevent or reduce coking in the crude heater and inlet sections of the distillation column.

 

Additional Benefits of LMG-30Additives

       The carboxylate chemistry favored by LMGI to manufacture our high concentration additives, has also been found to provide outstanding dispersion of asphaltenes in heavy fuel oils.  This important benefit was very important to our choice to manufacture carboxylate products instead of sulfonates, which apparently lack this capability.  This offers LMGI customer's additional advantages to keep fuel lines and burner tips clean.
